This paper explores the practical application of high-fidelity scanned base meshes—specifically the 3D Scan Store Ultimate Textured Male and Female Base Mesh Repack —in modern character creation pipelines. While high-resolution scans are typically associated with hero characters, this document argues that utilizing these assets as "Universal Bases" significantly accelerates the production of background characters (NPCs) and stylized heroes. We examine topology optimization, texture map repurposing, and the "Frankenstein" approach to character variance, offering a standardized workflow for studios and freelancers.
